Uniform Shop

Don’t forget that ACOA has a uniform swap!!  If you have uniforms to donate, wish to purchase uniform components (at very reduced rates), or if you would like to swap gently used uniforms/shoulder boards, contact LCDR Gino Begluitti (770.488.7930) or LCDR Sue Sloop (770.488.0703).

View our full listing of men's [PDF] or women's [PDF] uniform shop inventory.

To schedule an appointment to try on or purchase items or, to place an order or verify if there is a particular size in stock, please contact LCDR Gino Begluitti (770.488.7930) for men's components or LCDR Sue Sloop (770.488.0703) for women's components.

To donate clothing, please send items via interoffice mail to LCDR Begluitti (MS F-61) or call to set up a drop-off in person.

Note: Please do not donate uniform components that have been phased out of service (i.e., poly/cotton uniforms, winter blues, indoor duty whites, tropical uniforms, service blues, and black garrison caps).

See the Uniform Wear Section on our Resources Page for more information on how to wear PHS uniforms.

BDU Components Available Locally

ACOA has learned that the Military Clothing shop at Fort McPherson still has a number of BDU items and black combat boots available in stock for officers interested in purchasing uniforms locally and having the opportunity to try them on first. The available sizes are mostly at the small end of the spectrum with a few larger sizes (see enclosed chart of available uniforms) but for anyone who might be able to make use of them they are available for purchase. Officers are reminded that the BDU cover used by the Army is not the same as the one used by the PHS and must still be purchased from a Navy source.

PHS Flags Available

Note: PHS flags are currently out of stock. Please do not place orders until further notice. If you are interested in purchasing flags please send your information to ACOA so we may contact you when we reorder flags.

Own your very own PHS flag and show your Corps pride!

The PHS Flag, seen above  flying on the gulf coast during the Katrina response and in close-up, is a high quality material 3 X 5 foot nylon flag with the USPHS seal printed on a separate piece of material that is then stitched onto both sides so that the seal appears correct from both sides of the flag. It has metal grommets for flying on a wall mounted or free standing flagpole which make them appropriate for proud outdoor display at your home. They are equally at home on your office wall and they also make a great addition to carry with you on deployment!

Cost of the flags is $55 plus $5 shipping for a total cost of $60. For more flags you will need to contact LCDR Paula Peters (770.488.3915) to determine shipping costs although for an order of two or even three flags the shipping cost is likely to be about the same.

Please note: This item is for personal use and not intended to replace official USPHS flags as noted in Subchapter CC29.9 of the Commissioned Corps Personnel Manual.

Desk Top Flag Sets

In addition we now have desk top flag sets available for the first time that will include a 4"x 6" US flag and a 4"x 6" PHS flag in a synthetic silk material on a black plastic staff with a golden tip and a black base that will hold both flags. These flags would make excellent additions to your office or home and would make a great gift for a fellow officer or civil servant. The PHS flag is not readily available in any size making this desk set unique!

Desk sets are pictured at right with 2 flags at an angle to each side, the US flag and the PHS flag. Cost of the two-flag desk set is only $17 and if you order a flag and a desk set together the shipping cost is still only $5. There will be no additional shipping charge! Shipping charge for the desk top flag sets alone is also $5 and it is likely that several can be sent for the same shipping cost should you wish to order more than one. Please contact LCDR Paula Peters (770.488.3915) if you wish to purchase more than one of either item to determine total shipping cost.

You may pay for the flags and desk sets by check. Please make the check payable to "ACOA". They can all be paid for with one check.  Please send your check to the following address:

LCDR Paula Peters
4770 Buford Hwy, NE
Mailstop F-62
Atlanta, GA 30341
770.488.3915

Again costs are as follows:
USPHS 3' x 5' flag - $55 each
USPHS desk flag set - $17 each
Shipping - $5 (flag, desk set or flag and desk set combine)

Please contact LCDR Paula Peters (770.488.3915) if you wish to purchase more than one of either item to determine total shipping cost. We make every effort to try to keep shipping costs to a minimum.

Please note: For Atlanta based officers shipping is not required unless you specifically request to have it mailed to you. In addition, for members of the Atlanta Branch of COA, there is a $5 discount on the purchase of full size PHS flags and a $2 discount on desk sets. Membership will need to be confirmed for the discount to apply. You must be a member of the Atlanta Branch of COA as well as a member of the national COA organization for the discount to apply.

Please note: This item is for personal use and not intended to replace official USPHS flags as noted in Subchapter CC29.9 of the Commissioned Corps Personnel Manual.
