The Professional Development Committee is charged with creating great Lunch & Learn events, hosting the annual September President’s update and State of the ACOA, planning group APFT events, organizing officer photo sessions, arranging speed-mentoring events, and organizing other exciting learning opportunities throughout the year. It’s a fun, energetic committee great for anyone who is interested in advancing the careers and experiences of ACOA officers.


ACOA Call for Volunteers for the Professional Development Subcommittee


Co-Chairs: LCDR NaTasha Hollis and CDR Eric Tai

Come Join Us! The Professional Development Committee provides information and opportunities to officers regarding career and professional development. We welcome volunteers to help assist and lead events.

4-8 volunteers are needed for positions on subcommittees listed below. Subcommittees will be responsible for helping with the events.

  • “Lunch and Learns”: Seminars that are held four times a year for officers. These seminars will address Promotions, Awards, and uniform wear.

  • Officer Portrait Events: Sessions held on a bi-annual basis at the Roybal Campus.

  • APFT (Annual Physical Fitness Test) events: Held throughout the year

The general membership of ACOA meets throughout the year during our Lunch and Learn Series. ACOA typically holds at least four events per year. The Lunch and Learns relate to professional development, uniform wear, promotion, and more. If you would like to suggest potential topics, please contact the Professional Development Co-Chairs.
