About Us

The mission of the Atlanta Commissioned Officers Association (ACOA) is to offer opportunities to Atlanta-based officers, to give back locally to the community, enjoy camaraderie and esprit de corps. The Atlanta Branch is the largest COA branch in the state of Georgia and was named Branch of the Year in 1994, 2004, 2009, and 2010!

  • Community Service Events (TB Awareness Walk, USO, Habitat for Humanity)
  • Professional Development Lunch & Learns on topics such as readiness, uniforms, & promotions.

And we can't do any of it without help of our members!

Description: CAPT Bruce Tierney“ACOA has provided me a wealth of opportunities over the past decade, both professionally and personally, through professional development opportunities, community service activities and social events with fellow officers that I might not otherwise have had a chance to meet. Also, because of my belief in the importance and value that COA plays for all Commissioned Officers I decided to become a Life Member of the Association.”

    CAPT Bruce Tierney (CDC)

  • Description: LT Richard Dunville“As an ACOA member, I have benefitted from and enjoyed many ACOA services and activities, including: the formal officer portraits, opportunities for community service, informative professional development “lunch-and-learns,” the uniform store, and the Anchor and Caduceus Dinner. The annual dues are only $15; few organizations provide so many great services for such a small membership fee! If you are not already a member, please consider joining!”

    Description:
LT Richard Dunville“Being a remote officer I am fortunate to have such a great COA branch within a relatively short drive. ACOA is not my first COA affiliate, but in my experience the branch has a lot to offer compared with similar or larger branches. I have been most impressed with the opportunities provided or coordinated by ACOA for volunteer inter-service events. ”

LT Brandon C. Heitmeier (FDA /Chattanooga Resident Post)

    Automatic Draft Payment

Make Paying Your COA/ACOA Dues Easy With Automatic Draft!!!!

Did you know that you have the option to pay as little as $9 per month for your COA/ACOA membership dues???

That’s right! Instead of getting a lump sum annual dues statement, opt to pay your membership dues through monthly automatic drafts from your paycheck.  There are no additional fees with automatic draft payments and your membership automatically renews every year!

Setting up these automatic payments is easy! To get started, contact Malissa Spalding, COA membership coordinator, at mspalding@coausphs.org or call Toll-Free: 866-366-9593. When you call, be sure ACOA is listed as your local branch affiliation.

The membership year starts July 1st, but if you renew today, dues will be applied to the 2012-2013 operational year.  So make it easy for yourself and sign up for automatic draft today!

Do you already have automatic draft payments???

If you have changed rank from LT to LCDR within the past year OR have switched agencies, contact Malissa Spalding to update this information to avoid draft payments being suspended
